Day 9: Establish Boundaries + Manage Expectations

Boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Boundaries impact all areas of our lives: Physical boundaries help us determine who may touch us and under what circumstances. Mental boundaries give us the freedom to have our own thoughts and opinions. Emotional boundaries help us to deal with our own emotions and disengage from the harmful, manipulative emotions of others.

In my work as a health coach, I've spoken to many people suffering from burnout who name work as their biggest source of stress.

As I dove deeper looking for parallels and correlations, I found that in many instances, work stress boils down to communications - the ability to effectively communicate and receive communication - and relationships. In the context of work, it also came down to having boundaries and managing expectations.

Today I want to open the conversation on how establishing boundaries and managing expectations can influence our ability to communicate and enhance our relationships.
