When I learned that I had depleted my adrenals, I was so confused. I didn't even really know what adrenals were, other than adrenaline made me feel unstoppable. So I did what anyone would do - I turned to Dr. Google. The search pulled up so much information that I felt overwhelmed. And this is a relatively new topic in the health world. You imagine what happens when you do a search about dieting, weight loss or what's healthy. There is a lot of hype, myth, and misconceptions that lead to confusion about what to put in your mouth.
Many people (perhaps even you!) are aware of healthy eating, and since you're reading this, you likely want to do something it. But do you have the right information to make informed decisions about what is best for you?
I want to share my story about how I learned to eat clean and eat for energy in a way that works for me, and why I'll never diet again.
Can You Relate?
I used to feel tired all the time. I also used to feel the need to count every calorie I ate, even though I worked out seven days a week, sometimes two or three times a day.
A trainer I once worked with told me, "Weight loss is all about burning more calories than you take in." So I obsessed about exercising as much as possible and eating a little as possible.
While this helped me drop pounds, it set me up for an unhealthy mindset and relationship with food. It clouded my thinking on what it real health honestly means.
I was not eating for energy, and eventually, it caught up with me. Depriving my body of what it needed to thrive led me down a dark path to adrenal fatigue, blood sugar imbalance, and ultimately, a gut that was a hot mess.
Why Diets Don't Work
Thankfully, I no longer subscribe to this lifestyle. I don't believe in diets and deprivation. I don't believe in weighing my food and counting every calorie that I put in my mouth.
Through trial and error in the form of many elimination diets, I educated myself to learn what foods that work for my body. I learned that food is fuel, not my enemy.
Now, it is my ultimate desire to help you create a plan to discover what foods work for you. We all need a plan, especially with the crazy busy schedules we all have.

Facts About Weight Loss
I'll be honest with you, talking about weight loss makes me feel uncomfortable. But the reality is, it's what everyone desires. It was what I desired, and still do. So here are some facts on weight-loss and why diets don't work:
• 30% of Americans are trying to lose weight
• Another 30% are seeking to maintain weight
• Two-thirds who lose weight on diets gain it back within one year
• 98% gain their weight back and more within two years
Up until a few years ago, my obsession with working out was out of control. I couldn't get the "burn more calories than you take in" out of my head. So when I discovered long-endurance sports, it was a match made in heaven.
However, while I trained for marathons, I still tried to limit my calories. How crazy is that?! Here I was, runnings dozens of miles a week, training for hours at a time, and still restricting my calories.
I thought that if I counted my calories, the weight that I was mysteriously getting would melt off. If I were lighter, I'd run faster.
What I realize now is that in doing that, I destroyed my digestive system. My first diagnosis was IBS. At the same time, I had debilitating insomnia which was hypoglycemia. Then I learned I severely depleted my adrenals, but guess what? I didn't get what that meant, and I still trained to train for a marathon through it. So it was no surprise that the next diagnosis was SIBO and finally Leaky Gut Syndrome.
I looked healthy, but inside I was tired, sleep-deprived and bloated all the time. Oh my goodness, the bloating and was so bad.
My anxiety levels were at an all-time high, another problem I had. I did not connect the dots and realize that certain foods that I was eating were depleting my serotonin levels which affected my moods.
I’m sure some of you have experienced your version of this. How frustrating and STRESSFUL, right?
It's a toxic, vicious cycle.
But then I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and my life changed. I decided to specialize in digestive health and focus on helping people learn to how to eat for energy.
My entire life changed after I found out about the power of eating foods that were right for me and figured out how to nourish my body on an emotional and physical level.
I want to share what I’ve learned so you can have that "aha moment" that I had.
My work has not only changed my life but the lives of my clients, and even my friends and family.
