Are you toxic?
It's a loaded question isn't it?
Toxins are harmful and/or poisonous matters that hurt us physiologically and often psychologically and emotionally.
Nowadays, there are toxins infecting us on a daily basis. They enter us through our food in the forms of GMOs, they are in our environment through the air that we breathe, the water that we drink, and even in the cosmetics that we use!
So how can we tell if we are toxic? The truth of the matter is, we all carry toxins within us. It's impossible to completely avoid them.
But some of us carry a heavier load than others, and, toxins manifests itself in a variety of ways.
Here are 12 signs from our bodies that it's being overworked by loaded toxins:

4. Feeling low on energy* and chronically fatigued
5. Skin issues like acne*, eczema, and psoriasis
6. Excessive sweating, overheating and night sweats*

11. Digestive challenges* like loose stools, diarrhea, and/or constipation
The "*" indicates symptoms I experienced, and as you can see, I was very toxic, in spite of my perception that I was eating and exercising in a healthy way.
You might be experiencing some (or all?) of these symptoms in some form too. And you might think that it's normal for your body to experience these things.
But it's not.
The phrase "listening to my body" has become somewhat of a cliche. It's often used, but are people "really" listening to their bodies? Are you?
These symptoms are your body's way of telling you, "Hey! You're overloading me with toxins and I'm working in overdrive to protect you from it!"
These symptoms indicate that you probably have higher-than-you-should inflammation levels and your immune system is working in overdrive trying to regulate it.
So you might be wondering, "So what can I do about this?"
The answer is to remove the toxins.
In other words - detox.
Why Detox in the Spring
According to Chinese medicine, detoxing in the spring is the best way to honor and restore your liver and gallbladder, which are the organs that remove toxins from your body.
When these organs become flooded with toxins they become congested and cannot function properly. As a result, the toxins remain in your system and wreak havoc on your body. The liver is the workhorse of your body and you want it operating at optimal levels.
Also, according to Chinese medicine, the liver is related to anger. Therefore, as you cleanse your liver and eat liver-loving, high-alkaline green foods during a spring detox, you will notice a dramatic shift in your mindset.
What Is A Detox?
When I was first introduced to a detox, I was leery and adverse to it.
This is because all I knew of it is what I saw in the media and informercials. I thought it meant not eating, drinking only juices and taking powdered substances which for me translated to feeling hungry all of the time.
Oh, my friends, this is not true.
A detox simply means eliminating your body of toxins. De-tox.
