After years of dieting and counting calories and fat grams, I thought I was finally eating healthily, when I kicked gluten to the curb. Because gluten-free means healthier, right?
I suffered from embarrassing acne, debilitating insomnia, IBS, a fatty liver and more. I had to take a long, hard look at what I was actually eating, which was not what I thought I was eating. When I finally did, I realized ate a sugar-filled diet. All those gluten-free treats? Full of sugar. All that carb-loading for marathons? Sugar. It’s no wonder I was battling cystic acne, fatigue and had full blown adrenal dysfunction.
